While it’s no secret the Middle East hosts epic world class sporting events, 2022 was a particularly exciting year for live sports broadcasting. As the region’s go-to company in the Middle East for broadcasting live sports, at Seven Production we were honored to take part in all of the live action. As owners of the largest independent fleet of Outdoor Broadcasting Trucks (OB) and innovative streaming equipment in the MENA Region, we provided millions of viewers across the Middle East instant access to their favourite live sporting events. Thanks to our 4k capabilities and multiple camera angles, one could argue our coverage was better than a front row seat!
To kick off the new year, we’d like to showcase a few of the most exciting and memorable events we covered this year.
FIFA World Cup (Qatar)
When it comes to the experience of a lifetime, you’d be hard pressed to find a sporting event more entertaining and anticipated than the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Building off our recent partnership with Gravity Media, the Seven Production team delivered seamless, real-time coverage of the 2022 World Football Tournament to football fanatics all over the MENA Region.
During the course of the tournament, between 20th November and 18th December, we provided four medium and large-sized HD/4K OBT, with capabilities ranging from twelve to twenty cameras. Additionally, all of the trucks were fitted with SNG capability for real-time live transmission and specialist ENG, 4G, and remote cameras. Through the course of the World Cup, the Seven Production team worked closely on all coverage remotely via our home office in Dubai, with supplemental support from our branch offices in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. From the first elimination to Mbappé’s inspirational hat-trick and Argentina’s subsequent winning penalty goal.
2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (Yas Island Circuit)
Officially known as the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022, the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was a Formula One Motor race held on 20 November 2022 at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Seven Production was honored to provide all action to race enthusiasts who were not able to attend the live race. With flawless execution, our team provided uninterrupted live broadcasting from the start of the race to the exact millisecond Max Verstappen crossed the finish line.
Diriyah Tennis Cup 2022
Taking place between the 8th and 10th of December, the Diriyah Tennis Cup saw the world’s best tennis players once again return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to battle it out for world domination. In addition to the singles tournament, this year’s Diriyah Tennis Cup also included a doubles tournament for the first time. Luckily tennis fans across the UAE didn’t have to travel far to see all the live action. From the first set to the winning match where Taylor Fitz beat defending champion Danill Medvedev, Seven Production provided uninterrupted, crystal clear 4K coverage of every game, set, and match.
WBA World Light-Heavyweight Title (Abu Dhabi, UAE)
When we signed on to provide live broadcasting coverage of the 2022 Jeddah WBA World Light-Heavyweight Title, we knew it would be action packed. However, nothing could prepare us for how intense and thrilling this event would turn out to be. Dmitry Bivol defended his WBA Light Heavyweight world title against challenger Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez at the Etihad Arena Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Saturday November 5. In a unanimous decision, Bivol remained the undisputed champion. Thanks to our multiple angel 4K coverage, fans viewing from home were able to experience every punch from start to finish!
